Pura Brasa Ipanema

"Coleyworld approved Amazing spot with an unbeatable atmosphere right in the heart of Ipanema. Perfect for eating food and people-watching on a busy corner while soaking up the energy of the neighborhood. The food was absolutely delicious—garlic bread drenched in butter, loaded steak fries, perfectly cooked flank steak, and the surprise standout for me: the broccoli rice, which was my favorite dish. Service was generally good, though we did run into a few bumps with communication while ordering. We were trying our best, but I think the staff was understandably a bit worn out after a long day and not too eager to wrangle with Americans struggling through Portuguese. Still, the food and vibe more than made up for it. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Ipanema!"

"Very busy. Service was good. Never had to wait for a drink. Food tasted nice. I was skeptical they would cook such a thick filet mignon correctly but it was a perfect medium pretty much all the way through. Food took quite a while to come but again it was very busy and a thick cut of meat."

"We had a great experience at Pura Brasa. I ordered the chicken, which was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The polenta was a standout — crispy on the outside while staying soft and creamy on the inside, absolutely delicious. My girlfriend ordered the filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection, insanely soft and tender. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, and the overall experience was excellent. Definitely a place I would recommend and come back to."
